  3. careful with the sandals man. When I did the trail, my boots wore out in Connecticut. So i bought some new ones, and they made me blister all over cause I never broke them in. So I gave in to the siren song of teva sandals...It was a eureka moment...until Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania was such a rocky piece of trail, that the lack of ankle and ridge support eventually took its toll and I developed a stress fracture that wouldn't heal...I had to get off in the Shenandoahs and hitch to DC to get home. it wasn't until a year later that I was able to finish the last 800 miles.

All that to say...be careful my friend. Better off with some $20 walmart velcro shoes with a little support! Good luck!

    1. Brian thanks for the advice. I remembered that had happened to you but didn't know where. I just might do that for the rocky parts of penn. I can't imagine having to get off trail after beating most of the northeast! Thanks again for the gift cards!
